SC Valorizaciones Agropecuarias Plant - Miralcamp (Lleida)
Industrial complex dedicated to efficiently treating and drying slurry, and reusing and producing biogas.
Zero Waste Energy, through its subsidiary Zero Waste Asset Management, is in charge of the comprehensive management of SC Valorizaciones' efficient slurry treatment plant, as well as providing all the operation, maintenance and general services required by the plant, focusing on achieving our main goal of developing and implementing a more efficient, sustainable energy and industrial model.
The main purpose of SC Valorizaciones is to generate electricity, including from biogas, and to sustainably manage and treat by-product from pig farming. This treatment uses the thermal energy generated with the exhaust gases and the high and low cooling circuits of the motor-generators.
The process of reducing and effectively treating slurry consists basically of making use of the heat from cogeneration to produce steam and eliminate most of the moisture in the waste, resulting in a fertiliser or organic amendment that can then be used in agricultural activities in the area.
Moreover, the anaerobic digestion process the slurry is put through generates biogas to cover the needs of around three percent of the fuel used by the motor-generators.
