Zero Waste Cogeneration Basque Country – Urnieta (Guipúzcoa)
Cogeneration plant dedicated to the supply of thermal energy to the industrial complex owned by Esnelat (Iparlat Group), for its production process and treatment of dairy products.
The main purpose of Zero Waste Cogeneración Euskadi is to generate electricity and constantly supply thermal energy to the dairy industry. The plant uses alternative internal combustion motors and steam generation as its main technology to supply thermal energy to Esnelat factory.
Zero Waste Cogeneración Euskadi plant is part of subgroup a.1.3. of Royal Decree 413/2014. It is therefore an electrical cogeneration facility using natural gas as fuel, included in the high-efficiency cogeneration group, thanks to useful heat from the internal combustion of the motor-generators being reused in Esnelat’s uperisation process.
