Bioenergetics Egabrense - Biomass – Cabra (Córdoba)
Industrial complex dedicated to generating renewable electricity from biomass.
The main purpose of Bioenergética Egabrense - Biomass is to sustainably manage and generate renewable electricity through the hybridisation of biomass from olive trees, from reusing dry pomace as a by-product of the olive pomace oil extraction process, and from forestry activities (olive leaf, stump, pruning, etc.).
The combustion of these resources in a biomass boiler produces steam, which feeds a turbine associated with an alternator, thus generating renewable energy.
Bioenergética Egabrense - Biomass plant is classified as a type 1 hybrid facility according to Article 2 of Royal Decree 413/2014 of 6th June, i.e. it encompasses special regime electricity generation facilities classified in the following types of industrial generation plants:
B6: Plants that use biomass from energy crops, forestry waste, and waste from agricultural and livestock activity as their main fuel.
B8: Plants that use biomass from industrial facilities in the agricultural sector as their main fuel.
